Welcome to HonestWrite (“HonestWrite,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using our website, services, web applications, or application programming interfaces (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

HonestWrite is an AI-powered writing assistant and editor built to help professionals, students, and content creators improve written communication. The platform provides real-time grammar checks, style improvements, tone analysis, and rewriting suggestions to ensure clear, engaging, and error-free copy across web documents and text editors.

3. Accounts and Security

To access certain features of the Service, including saving history and paid subscriptions, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscriptions, Payments, and Billing

Certain portions of the Service are provided on a paid subscription basis (“Paid Services”). Pricing, word allowances, and feature tiers are published on our Pricing Page.

• Billing Provider: Payments and subscriptions are processed securely by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), acting as merchant of record. By subscribing, you authorize Polar to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly or annual basis.
• Renewal & Cancellation: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled prior to renewal. You may cancel your subscription at any time with one click through your account billing portal or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period.
• Word Allowances: Monthly word allowances reset at each monthly billing anniversary and do not roll over across periods.
• Refunds: Refund policies are detailed in our dedicated Refund & Cancellation Policy.

5. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership

Your Content:You retain 100% ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights to any text, documents, or content you submit to HonestWrite (“User Input”) and all edited versions or rewrite suggestions produced for you (“User Output”). HonestWrite claims no ownership over your inputs or outputs.

Service IP: HonestWrite and its logos, user interface designs, algorithms, documentation, and underlying code are the exclusive property of HonestWrite and protected by intellectual property laws.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use HonestWrite only for lawful, ethical purposes in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for academic dishonesty, fraudulent activities, or violating institutional honor codes;
• Generate or distribute unlawful, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, or hateful content;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or disrupt the Service infrastructure;
• Circumvent account limits, API quotas, or security mechanisms.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

HonestWrite is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. While we strive to provide exceptional writing suggestions and accuracy, you acknowledge that AI-assisted output should be reviewed and verified prior to publication, academic submission, or commercial distribution.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HonestWrite and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.
